Slightly away from the port along a main road, this homey eatery blends seamlessly into daily island life. Their signature “Mozuku Soba with Egg” is brimming with mozuku seaweed—a local specialty of Izena Island. The noodles and mozuku intertwine perfectly, letting you taste the blessings of the sea in every bite. The generous portion creates a happy dilemma: eat the mozuku first or dive into the noodles?

Another standout is the “Kamiyama Soba,” a bowl topped with pork belly slices, stewed spareribs, and “chimagu” (pork trotters). The “chimagu” in particular is simmered until it’s melt-in-your-mouth tender and gelatinous—truly exquisite.

With few dining options on the island, it’s a bonus that the restaurant is open on Sundays. When visiting Izena, be sure to try its delicious mozuku seaweed in a steaming bowl of Okinawa soba.
